Accomplishments
· Achieved a 3 day month end and a 5 day year-end financial close coordinating the efforts of staff accountants and software consultants in 4 locations for a global logistics execution organization on SAP.
· Cut the time it took to close inventory from three to one week and the time it took to close the books from five to three weeks for the largest US wine and spirits retailer.
· Migrated the accounting and financial reporting from legacy systems to SAP and Oracle ERP systems by mapping and streamlining the sales to cash, procure to pay, hire to fire processes, identifying key controls management will rely on to comply with SOX, creating the chart of accounts, cost centers, automatic and manual journal entries, closing schedule, etc.
· Financially analyze the performance of 600 plus stores to identify the 30 stores to close while minimizing lost sales. Allocate the annual capital expenditure budget amongst existing retail stores. · Reduce receivables over 90 days to zero due to intense monitoring and collection efforts. Track and research payables to ensure vendors get paid within 30 days of receipt of a proper invoice.
· Supervise month and year end reporting, analyze the financials utilizing comparative, common size, ratio and trend analysis, ensure GAAP compliance, prepare management’s discussion and analysis, and present to the CFO
· Provide SAP Finance training. Class sizes were between 2 to 4 Accountants.
